Resolution on continued financial and military support to Ukraine from EU Member States

Today, the European Parliament adopted a resolution clearly underlining that Ukraine has the right to self-defence, including attacks on legitimate military targets in Russia. MEPs say the current restrictions on the use of Western weapons weaken Ukraine's defences and expose it to further Russian attacks.
The resolution draws attention to declining military aid from member states and calls for accelerated deliveries of ammunition and advanced weapons, including Taurus missiles. MEPs propose that EU and NATO countries provide Ukraine with support equivalent to at least 0.25% of their GDP.
MEPs also call for tougher sanctions against Russia and its allies, including Iran and North Korea. In addition, they recommend the confiscation of Russian assets frozen in the EU, which should be used for the reconstruction of Ukraine.
