Report on the draft EU general budget for 2025

The European Parliament adopts the EU's draft budget for 2025, reflecting priorities in the areas of security, innovation and climate policy. In the proposal, MEPs have pushed for increased funding for programmes such as Horizon Europe, Erasmus+ and the Connecting Europe Facility, which supports transport and energy infrastructure.
Continued financial support for Ukraine is also an important part of the budget, which includes both humanitarian aid and funds to rebuild war-torn infrastructure. MEPs stressed that the EU must maintain its long-term support for Kiev.
Another key item in the budget is the repayment of loans from the NextGenerationEU fund, which was set up to rebuild member states' economies after the pandemic. At the same time, the European Parliament called on member states to ensure sufficient funding in the coming years and to avoid cuts in priority areas.
